Cheers on New Year's Eve with Your Kids
New Year's Eve is a time for celebration! And what better way to celebrate than with a little bubbly? But if you've got young kids at home, you might be wondering how you're going to cheers along with them. Never fear! We've got you covered with five festive and kid-friendly ways to cheers on NYE.
1. Make your own sparkling cider. This is a great option for younger kids who are too young to drink alcohol. Just add a splash of apple juice or cranberry juice to each flute and top off with sparkling water. Garnish with a slice of fruit or a candy cane, and you're good to go!
2. Fill your flutes with Sprite or 7Up. This one is perfect for the older kids who want to feel like they're drinking something special (and fizzy!). Just pour in the soda, add a A few drops of food coloring, if desired, and garnish with a slice of citrus fruit.
3. Create a fun mocktail by adding pomegranate seeds and sparkling water to your flutes. If you want something that looks a little fancier, this is the way to go. The pomegranate seeds will sink to the bottom of the glass, making for a pretty presentation. Garnish with a sprig of mint or some edible glitter, if desired.
4. Get creative with your favorite fruits and juices! This is where you can really let your imagination run wild. Some ideas include adding strawberry slices and lemonade; mango chunks and orange juice; or raspberries and cranberry juice. Be sure to garnish your glasses accordingly; we love slices of citrus fruit or sprigs of fresh herbs for this one.
No matter how you choose to cheers on NYE, we hope you have a happy and safe holiday! From all of us here at Colorfull Plates, we wish you a prosperous 2023!
